FAQs - Frequently asked questions
I see that your general offices are located in Florida. How can you provide me with a certified appraisal on my aircraft located in Texas?
While our administrative offices are located in Florida, we currently have a total of 17 field office locations coast-to-coast including Texas. In most cases, we can provide appraisal and prebuy inspections services at any airport location throughout the nation - without charging exorbitant traveling expenses like other appraisal service companies do.
As the aircraft owner, do I need to be present during during your certified appraisal inspection?
No. As long as you designate someone to allow our appraiser unencumbered access to your aircraft and maintenance log records, it won't be necessary for you to be present during the inspection.
Will a desktop appraisal be as accurate as a certified appraisal?
The appraised value presented within a desktop appraisal is designed to be just as accurate as the certified appraisal - as long as the information provided to us about the aircraft is accurate.
How can we be sure which type of appraisal is best for us? Certified or Desktop?
Simply contact us so that together, we can evaluate your requirements and assist you with your choice.
How do I order an appraisal on my aircraft?
Its easy. Once you've decided whether a certified or desktop appraisal suits your requirements, we'll send our proposal/service agreement to you for your approval. This proposal/service agreement will provide complete details on the service that we will provide, including a firm quote on our fee (we never add any additional hidden fees, or expenses to our quotes). Upon your approval, we will then begin our preparations for conducting the appraisal.
The desktop appraisal that you provided on our helicopter last year was terrific. But now, our bank requires a certified appraisal to refinance the helicopter. Can you offer us a discount on your fee for the additional certified appraisal?
Absolutely! At Nationwide Appraisal Services, our exclusive policy is to apply the total fee that a client previously paid on a desktop appraisal toward the price of a certified appraisal on the same aircraft. This policy applies to any desktop appraisal ordered within the previous 12 months. Its just one way we like to say "thank you" to our clients for using our services.
What is the advantage if obtaining an appraisal over using my Blue Book Price Digest?
Only if value accuracy is required. The values provided within "Blue Book Price Digest" and "Vref" reference guide publications are fine for simply estimating the value of an aircraft. Unfortunately, reference guides cannot determine the significant effect on value due to the condition of airframe and powerplant components, paint, interior, avionics, damage history and accuracy of maintenance records. This information can only be revealed by performing a professional appraisal inspection. So, an appraisal is the only method for determining an accurate current market value on a specific aircraft.
How does a prebuy inspection differ from an appraisal?
Prebuy inspections and appraisals are similar to the extent that both take in account the condition of the aircraft. However, prebuy inspections focus on the serviceability of an aircraft whereas an appraisal is focused on its value.
How can we be sure which type of prebuy inspection is best for us? Class I or Class II?
Simply contact us so that together, we can evaluate your requirements and assist you with your choice.
Is it possible to combine a prebuy inspection with an appraisal?
Yes. Many of our clients prefer to have both the prebuy inspection and appraisal accomplished at the same time. In such cases, we offer a substantial discount on our fee when both services are accomplished together.
